Israeli Soldiers Wound Woman, 3 Journalists in Hebron

HEBRON, September 4, 2006 (WAFA)- One woman and three journalists were wounded Monday as Israeli soldiers assaulted them in the West Bank (WB) City of Hebron, witnesses and medical sources said.

Ghadeer Misk told WAFA that Israeli soldiers beat her sister Maysoon 38, when she attempted to prevent them from using her house as a watch tower in the city. She said that the soldiers hit her with rifle buts on the head.

Medical sources reported that Misk was carried to hospital as she lost her conscious as a result of the assault.

WAFA photographer, Hussam Abu Allan, Reuters photographer, Nayef al-Hashlamoun and freelancer, Najih al-Hashlamoun were also beaten up by the Israeli soldiers, Abu Allan said.

He added that the soldiers assaulted the journalists while they were trying to cover the Israeli attack on Abu Katila neighbourhood.

Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) thrust into the western part of the city and stormed several houses.
