West Bank and Gaza: Armed gang attacks Hamas newspaper office in Ramallah

Gaza-based Voice of Al-Aqsa, the mouthpiece of the Hamas movement, reported that dozens of armed members of the Fatah Movement had attacked the offices of Minbar al-Islah newspaper in Ramallah on 12 June, destroying property and beating up staff.

Yazid Khadir, chief editor of the newspaper, told the Voice of Al-Aqsa that "elements from the security apparatuses and the Fatah Movement" were responsible.

"This sinful aggression is part of efforts to silence people and suffocate freedom of the press, including this paper that represents the Hamas movement," Khadir said, adding that the newspaper would continue to be published despite the damage caused to its offices.
